What is the name of the child actor (little girl) who played in the 1972 Shake'N'Bake commercial?
Q. Remember the old grainy Shake'N'Bake commercial from 1972 that had Judy Graubart in it and the little girl who chimed in with "And I helped!" at the end? The ad was created by MacDonald & Associates, but I've been unable to locate the name of the child actor. And I'm specifically looking for the 1972 commercial, not the ones from the 80's and 90's with Carly Schroeder, Taylor Momsen, and Philip Amelio. Thanks!

A. I'm also into acting and I have been wanting the same thing so just take some acting classes for about a year. Seek advice from your acting coach, other friends that might be interested in the same thing. Then try to go on auditions for whatever field you want to be in like:theater, drama,tv sitcom etc. A agent can also help you book audtions.

How important is it for a new CHILD actor to have their first acting agent be SAG certified?
Q. I'm a new actor with a lot of community theater experience and some professional. I understand what an agent does, how to get one, and all of that stuff. but is it important for a kid to have their agent be SAG certified? I know SAG makes sure kids don't work over the amount of time the law allows and makes sure the kids keep school as a priority... however I'd really like to know if this is something to keep in mind or not. thanks

A. Your mother and/or father should be shopping agents for you. There's a really good book for you and/or your parents to read about agents, though. And I take it you're in Los Angeles, CA or New York City? Because, well, for a big step like an agent. You need to be in those cities or they won't even see you. Because they have plenty of children with tons of experience already living in those cities. If you are outside, far outside these area's [with the exclusion of Chicago]; stick to your local market and local agents, etc. Yes, SAG makes sure laws are followed. But, all states, union or not, have child labor laws. This is America. Children are not allowed to work certain jobs or more than a certain amount of hours. The US Laws will… [cont.]

A. Most child actor's have actually been working since they were toddlers or even younger. Seriously, they've paid their dues and finally have some success before they enter those awkward years of puberty. They were cute, precocious kids to begin with, most have always been small or very young looking for their age and are really older than they appear, and have no problem being total professionals when the time comes to work. It takes training and discipline and yes you need classes. You also need good grades. These kids that you see on TV are either home schooled or need permission from their teacher and principal to get a work permit and that can be denied if your grades and attendance are not good. A. Okay. Well you're going to have to learn how to act first. Then, start auditioning for plays in your area. Then get your picture taken and then find agents in your area. And thennn send them the resume with all the stuff you've been in and all the classes you've taken, with your headshot! This will take like almost a year if you do it correctly. But if you want a very detailed explanation with step to step help! Go to www.actingcareerstartup.c om Good Luck!

What is a day in the life of a child actor like?
Q. Around when do you arrive at the studio/set, do you go to school, how and when do you shoot scenes, what do the less important actors do, and when do you knock off? I'd prefer detailed, helpful answers, but any help would be very appreciated. Thanks :)

A. I had to do some research on child actors a few weeks ago for school. I know that young celebrities do not have that easy a life as it seems. They have to arrive at the studio the same time as the other co-stars. Age doesn't usually play a part in the timing. They have less interaction with other children their age, so they have to "mature" at a faster rate than the rest. This gives them life deprived of childhood and innocence. These actors actually gamble their education away too. They may have private tuition, but the mindset that they are celebs and don't need to study changes their attitude towards studies. They often have less time for studies. They don't have a fixed future. I mean, anything can happen when you're growing up,… [cont.]

A. From what I understand, child actors would have a school on the set or somewhere on the studio lot. They do not always go to a regular school. You would still have to have an education. That is the law where ever you act.

What scary horror movie features a female child actor who wears a jester/clown costume, half red, half white?
Q. I was flipping through channels and saw a scene of (what was the end) of a scary movie, showing a young girl in a jester/clown (halloween?) costume, half red, half white. The police seemingly brought her home. It looked familiar, like a move from the late 80's or early 90's that I'd seen years ago. Any ideas?

How can I become a child voice actor?
Q. I'm 14 and live in gateshead/newcastle, and I've always been interested in voice acting. I've tried kidztalk, but they can't work with me as I live too far away. Does anyone know of any companes that would take on an untrained inexpierianced voice actor in the gateshead/newcastle area?

A. try www.voice123.com it's a completely internet-based voiceover agency, all demos etc are done online. you might have to buy/hire/borrow a decent microphone, but you also have the advantage of being your own agent, no commission fees to be paid. it's very important that you can read "cold", so start practising reading unknown texts without mistakes. good luck!

Can Being in a Horror Movie Psychologically(Spelling? ) be Damaging to a Child Actor/Actress?
Q. I know that they have the cameras there and everything, but still, a young child being in a movie like that could have an effect, maybe... It's not a personal question...It's just a topic that came up among friends while we were watching "The Ring" during a part with the little boy.

A. I am sure just being in a normal movie could have that affect. That is sooo much pressure for a child its unbelievable. But I think with all the cameras, people, props and just the atmosphere would make it not scary. But I am sure some things would make their minds wander when they got home after a 15 hour shift=) Wrong
